Edwin Peralta-Millan, Esq. joined our professional team in 1992. He is one of the most experienced lawyers in the area of professional and business immigration. He won hundreds of immigration cases for scientists, engineers, specialists and businessmen from the former Soviet Union. He represented many famous sportsmen, actors and artists. Edwin Peralta-Millan, Esq. is one of the first American attorneys who assisted principals and specialists of international businesses from the former Soviet Union in obtaining L visas and green cards. He is well known in the Russian community of New York as an attorney specializing in various areas of US Immigration Law.

Before commencement of his studies at the Law School Mr. Peralta-Millan graduated from Texas University in 1973 majoring in political sciences, philosophy, sociology, English and French languages.

Upon graduation from the University Mr. Peralta-Millan became interested in law and in 1978 entered New York School of Law, which he graduated from in 1982 Summa cum Laude and the same year he was licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey.

From 1982 Edwin Peralta-Millan started his own law practice specializing in criminal law, business and real estate. Mr. Peralta-Millan has wide-ranging successful experience of court appearances and in representing his clients in civil and criminal courts.

In 1989 Edwin Peralta-Millan, Esq. began to specialize in immigration cases. It was a coincidence that the year 1989 became a turning point for immigration from the former Soviet Union. The refugee program via Austria and Italy ceased to exist; at the same time, with the policy of Perestroika the number of specialists from the former Soviet Union arriving to the US with employment visas of various categories considerably increased.

In 1992 seeking an opportunity to expand his legal practice to Russian-speaking clients Edwin Peralta-Millan, Esq. began to work with our company and in 1993 became well-known in the Russian community of New York as an expert in the area of business and professional immigration.

He was one of very few attorneys in the Russian community of New York who offered representation in the so-called "Soviet Scientist Immigration Act" cases. That provision of immigration law was designed specifically for scientists from the former Soviet citizens who were employed in defense industry providing for simplified and expeditious green card processing. "Soviet Scientist Immigration Act" was in effect for several years only and not many law offices were able to thoroughly study that new immigration procedure and were not equipped to take such cases. Mr. Peralta-Millan, Esq. was able to assist many applicants and became quickly known as an attorney who utilizes original and creative approach to his clients' cases.

Besides his professional expertise Mr. Peralta-Millan, Esq. is keenly interested in various areas of science and technology. Thus, interactions with specialists in different fields and scientists are of especial interest to him. He is familiar with the newest developments in computer industry, space engineering and robotic technology.
